Besides the change in name and administrative boundaries, the force of Becamex Ho Chi Minh City Club has also almost completely transformed. They no longer have their "favorite" striker Nguyen Tien Linh, who has just transferred to play for the same city team, Ho Chi Minh City Police Club.

Coach Anh Duc also cleaned up the squad by buying many new faces such as striker Cao Quoc Khanh (from Dong Nai ), Le Minh Binh (from Ninh Binh), Trong Hung (from Thanh Hoa). On the other hand, there are "homegrown" players such as Trong Huy, Thien Duc, Duy Khanh.
