An Giang: Prosecution of Deputy Chief of Office of People's Council

Regarding the case that occurred in Cho Moi district, An Giang province, on December 4, news from the Investigation Police Agency of An Giang province, the unit has just prosecuted the accused, banned from leaving the place of residence Nguyen Tuan Minh (born in 1987, Deputy Chief of the Office of the People's Council - People's Committee of Cho Moi district), Nguyen Thanh Tam (born in 1988, Director of Thinh Phat Build Company Limited) for the act of Abusing position and power while performing official duties; Lang Thanh Phong (born in 1975, Deputy Head of the Economic - Infrastructure Department of Cho Moi district) for the act of Lack of responsibility causing serious consequences.

The An Giang Provincial Police Department also prosecuted and detained Dang Truong Minh Thien (born in 1981, Director of Nam Thinh Tien Construction - Consulting Company Limited) for the act of "Abusing position and power while performing official duties".

The above decisions and orders have been approved by the People's Procuracy of An Giang province.

According to the An Giang Provincial Police Investigation Agency, through searching the residence and workplace of the suspects, the authorities discovered and seized many documents and equipment related to the case.

During the investigation, the authorities determined that Nguyen Thanh Tam assisted Tran Huu Duc (Chairman of Tan My Commune People's Committee) in creating false settlement documents for the Project, causing a loss to the State budget of over 485 million VND.

Defendant Lang Thanh Phong was irresponsible in appraising the documents of many projects, causing a loss of over 1.8 billion VND to the State budget; Dang Truong Minh Thien did not supervise the construction of the projects, allowing related people to create fake construction documents to embezzle over 703 million VND and assisted Tran Huu Duc and Nguyen Thanh Tam in agreeing to create fake settlement documents for the projects...

Nguyen Tuan Minh took advantage of his assigned position and authority to direct the creation of fake documents, causing a loss to the State budget of over 337 million VND.

Currently, the An Giang Provincial Police Department continues to investigate and clarify the case.
