For about three months now, Hung Vuong 1 Street in Hoang Van Thu and Le Loi wards has become more sparkling and vibrant. The majestic high-rise buildings, shops and stores are designed in a modern style, decorated with LED lights, climbing flower trellises, green trees and fountains, creating a bright and fresh landscape. With the support of the City People's Committee, Tuan Mai Trading Joint Stock Company is investing in building this area into a walking street, promoting night-time economic activities.

The children love it because the space is airy, the landscape is clean, unique, crowded but not noisy".

Recently, the night food court on the Thuong River dike in Tan Ninh residential group, Tran Phu ward has also attracted many visitors. The dike corridor area has been paved with stone, poured with concrete, installed with railings, lighting, and built flower beds by the city's functional unit, attracting nearly ten households to invest in clean and beautiful stalls, providing food and beverage services such as: Hot pot, grill, coffee, soft drinks, and a children's play area. In the afternoon, the dike is sparkling with lights reflecting on the river surface; bustling with visitors.

Mr. Doan Anh Duong, Vice Chairman of Tran Phu Ward People's Committee, said: With the policy of renovating the model dike to ensure urban civilization combined with night-time economic development, the ward has mobilized people to clear weeds, clean up, and plant flowers along the route. At the same time, businesses contribute funds to decorate lanterns and install equipment for children to play for free. The ward develops plans and guides businesses to operate in accordance with regulations. The concentrated business here contributes to overcoming the situation of food stalls encroaching on sidewalks and roads, causing unsanitary conditions and traffic safety in some areas of the locality.

In the city, there are some streets that are more brilliant and vibrant at night, such as the food street on Nghia Long street, Tran Phu ward; the fruit street on Than Nhan Trung street, Tan My commune; the flower street on Le Loi street, Hoang Van Thu ward; the lantern street on Nguyen Thi Luu 6 street, Ngo Quyen ward... These night streets bring economic efficiency, create jobs and income for local workers and neighboring areas. At the same time, they meet the entertainment and shopping needs of the people, create a new look for the city, and contribute to tourism development.

Implementing the Resolution of the 22nd Congress of Bac Giang City Party Committee, term 2020 - 2025, Bac Giang City People's Committee advocates the development of trade and services, including the construction of walking streets, promoting the night economy. According to Ms. Le Thi Kiem, Head of the Urban Management Department, along with creating favorable conditions for businesses and business households to invest, the city's functional branches and local authorities pay attention to guiding units to operate in accordance with regulations; ensuring security, urban order, and environmental sanitation.

Night streets bring economic efficiency, meet the entertainment and shopping needs of the people, and contribute to tourism development. The city's functional agencies and local authorities create conditions for these streets to operate while paying attention to ensuring security, order, and environmental sanitation.

To maintain the night flower street, Hoang Van Thu ward has arranged for functional forces to regularly patrol and remind households to park their vehicles and display goods within the painted lines according to regulations, not to encroach on the roadway and to maintain public hygiene. Business households coordinate with Bac Giang Urban Works Management Joint Stock Company to sweep and collect garbage 3 times a day to avoid backlog.

At the food street on the dike in Tran Phu ward, socialized security cameras, toilets, and trash cans have been installed to serve the activities in the area. Business owners strictly comply with the commitment to the ward People's Committee, participate in the self-management team to ensure environmental sanitation, security and order, traffic safety, fire prevention and fighting at the sales and public areas. Because they operate on the dike corridor, households do not set up tents or stretch fixed tarpaulins to move promptly when necessary.

In the period of 2020 - 2025, the City People's Committee continues to mobilize resources to develop trade and service infrastructure; form and maintain a number of cultural - tourism - trade - service - culinary spaces associated with walking streets and night economy.

Currently, the City Economic Department is mobilizing and supporting businesses to invest in building a walking street in the Southern urban area; the night economic zone of Xuong Giang ward with spaces: Shopping, cuisine, cultural exchange, art performance, sports. At the same time, orienting businesses and business households in these areas to develop shopping services, souvenirs, introduce and promote local OCOP products to serve tourists.
