On the evening of October 4, within the framework of the 10th Hanoi Book Fair, Kim Dong Publishing House organized a talk and introduced the book "Land of Fog - The Quest for Memory Glue" with the theme "When Family is a Miracle".

This is the debut children's novel by writer Daryl Kho, illustrated by artist Silly Jillie, translated by translator Kieu Ngan Ha.
The story revolves around a young girl named Alexis and her magical journey to find the ingredients to create “Memory Glue” to restore her grandfather’s broken memories. Accompanying her are her strong-willed grandmother and a special mountain elf. They must cross a mysterious land, overcome dangerous challenges, confront magical creatures, while the deadline is approaching.
“The Land of Fog – The Quest for Memory Glue” is not only attractive because of its magical elements but also because of its humanistic message: Family affection is the most magical miracle, which can help people overcome illness, forgetfulness, and even separation. The stories told, the pages of books read together… become the “glue” that binds grandparents, parents and children together.
What makes the book so compelling is its deep emotional foundation. Daryl Kho wrote this story from his own family experience, when his father suffered from dementia after a stroke and the book became a spiritual gift.

With a combination of folk tales, fables and mystical creatures from Southeast Asia such as Thailand, Philippines, Cambodia, Malaysia..., "The Land of Mist - The Quest for Memory Glue" is like a festival of stories and storytelling, honoring family, friendship and love.
The work has resonated in Singapore and internationally. The book won the Hedwig Anuar Children's Book Award (HABA) of the Singapore Book Council, the Singapore Book Awards 2022 - Best work for young readers, was a finalist in the Book of the Year Award (Singapore Book Awards), and was voted into the Top 10 most favorite works in Singapore. The book has been translated and published in many countries such as China, Indonesia, Korea, etc.
At the event, readers had the opportunity to interact and chat with Dr. Nguyen Thuy Anh - poet, educator, Head of the Reading with Children Club; Dr. La Linh Nga - Director of the Center for Research and Application of Psychology - Education and translator Kieu Ngan Ha - who translated the work into Vietnamese.
Dr. Nguyen Thuy Anh shared that the novel was released on the occasion of Mid-Autumn Festival, which is truly meaningful. Reading the book, family members appreciate each other more, because even if memories are broken, love and family bonds will always be the miracle that heals everything.
