Bac Ninh: Meeting to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the People's Foreign Relations Traditional Day

The commemorative speech by Comrade Nguyen Duc Trong, Permanent Vice President, General Secretary of the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations, stated that 75 years ago, on November 17, 1950, President Ho Chi Minh founded the Vietnam World Peace Protection Committee - the predecessor of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations today. That event opened a new page, affirming the special role of the Vietnamese people on the diplomatic front.

During the resistance wars, people's diplomacy was a bridge of international solidarity, gaining great support from friends from all over the world for the nation's just cause. During the renovation process, people's diplomacy contributed to breaking the blockade, promoting international cooperation and integration, and promoting the image of the country and people of Vietnam who love peace, friendship and development.

Entering the period of deep integration, people's diplomacy continues to strengthen friendship with other countries, consolidate trust, build consensus, and contribute to a peaceful and stable environment for the cause of national construction and protection.

To meet the requirements of the tasks in development and international integration, on October 12, 1998, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Giang province (old) issued a decision to establish the Union of Friendship Organizations of the province. After merging and operating the 2-level local government, on July 17, 2025, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province issued a decision to allow the renaming of the Union of Friendship Organizations of Bac Giang province to the Union of Friendship Organizations of Bac Ninh province.

At the meeting, delegates participated in a discussion with the theme "The role of people-to-people diplomacy in comprehensive and modern diplomacy, for the goal of economic, cultural and social development; current situation and solutions to innovate and improve the quality of activities, ready to join the whole country in entering a new era - the era of national growth".

To improve the quality and effectiveness of operations and affirm the role of people-to-people diplomacy, delegates said that the Union of Friendship Organizations of provinces and cities needs to improve research and analysis capacity to understand partners and new trends in people-to-people diplomacy, thereby promoting advantages and limiting shortcomings.

Continue to perform well the function of being the focal point for relations and mobilizing foreign non-governmental aid. Pay attention to investment, support technical means, and apply 4.0 technology to serve people's foreign affairs activities.

At the meeting, comrade Nguyen Ngoc Hung, Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, emphasized that the development of the Union of Friendship Organizations of provinces and cities meets the requirements of people's foreign affairs in the new situation, contributing to strengthening the great national unity bloc, attracting investment, developing the economy, culture and society of provinces and cities.

Play a good role as a bridge between the Vietnamese community abroad in general, Bac Ninh people abroad in particular, with foreign organizations, individuals, and businesses, with domestic organizations, individuals, and businesses in the province. Promote foreign information work, promote the image of Vietnam and the people of Kinh Bac homeland to international friends.

Innovate approaches in advocacy work, diversify partners, expand relations with foreign non-governmental organizations and potential partners; make efforts to resolve difficulties to mobilize financial resources, technology, and management experience to serve the work of hunger eradication, poverty reduction, and solving social and humanitarian issues.
