The Central Organizing Committee unanimously proposed a 5-day holiday for April 30, May 1.

The Central Organizing Committee agreed with the proposal of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to swap the working day of April 29 to another day so that the April 30 and May 1 holidays would last 5 days.

On April 9, the Central Organizing Committee issued a document stating its opinion on the plan proposed by the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to swap normal working days and make up for them on other days during the April 30 - May 1 holiday in 2024.

Accordingly, the Central Organizing Committee agreed with the proposal of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs on exchanging the normal working day (April 29) and compensating for it on another day, reporting to the Prime Minister for consideration and decision.
"Compared with the regulations on holidays and Tet (Article 112, Labor Code 2019), on the principle of not changing the working time fund, while ensuring that cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers have harmonious and complete holidays, the Central Organizing Committee agrees with the proposal of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs on exchanging normal working days (April 29) and making up for them on another day, reporting to the Prime Minister for consideration and decision," the document of the Central Organizing Committee stated.
Up to now, in addition to the Central Organizing Committee, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Ministry of Home Affairs , the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Finance have all agreed to the proposal to swap working days so that the April 30 - May 1 holiday lasts 5 days from April 27 to May 1, in which the normal working day (April 29) will be swapped to another day to make up for it.

According to the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, after receiving full opinions from ministries, branches and agencies, the drafting agency will synthesize and advise the ministry's leaders to submit to the Prime Minister for consideration and decision.
