Arrest of suspect having sex with 15 year old girl met through social network

On May 23, news from the Mang Thit District Police Investigation Agency (Vinh Long) said that the unit had just issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, and temporarily detain Nguyen Quoc Danh (19 years old, residing in An Phu Thuan Commune, Chau Thanh District, Dong Thap ) to investigate the act of sexual intercourse with a person from 13 to 16 years old. The decisions were approved by the People's Procuracy at the same level.

According to the initial investigation results, through the social network Facebook, around February 2023, Danh got to know N. (15 years old, living in Mang Thit district). On April 30, the two made an appointment to meet at N.'s house and then fell in love. Danh then stayed overnight at N.'s house until the morning of May 1 before returning.

Then, at around 9pm on May 2nd, N. texted Danh to invite him to her house when there were no adults at home. Danh rode his motorbike from Dong Thap to Vinh Long to N.'s house to stay overnight and the two had sex twice. At midnight on May 2nd, N.'s family came home from work and discovered the incident, so they immediately went to the police to report it.

During the interview, Danh admitted that he had known N. for less than 2 months through Facebook. However, after their first meeting, they fell in love and committed the above illegal acts.

The Mang Thit District Police are consolidating the case file on the sexual intercourse with a person aged 13 to 16 years old to handle it according to the law.
