On November 14, according to the HCM City Police Department of Staff, expanding the fight in Project VN10, HCM City Police have thoroughly handled the subjects who bought drugs from those arrested in the project to organize illegal drug use.

Accordingly, Ho Chi Minh City Police prosecuted and detained singer Nguyen Trung Hieu (stage name Chi Dan), model Nguyen Thi An (An Tay) and Nguyen Do Truc Phuong.

According to Ho Chi Minh City Police, strictly implementing the directives of the Ministry of Public Security and the Prime Minister in the Letter of Commendation dated April 26, 2024, requesting to continue promoting the achievements, expanding the investigation and pursuing the entire drug trafficking ring from France to Vietnam on March 16, 2023, Ho Chi Minh City Police continuously stepped up the fight, following every trace to expose every cover of the drug lords.

Since then, the City Police have dismantled 146 more drug trafficking and transportation rings and gangs operating across districts and provinces, and prosecuted 630 more defendants.

Up to now, the results of the investigation have helped Ho Chi Minh City Police dismantle nearly 500 drug rings and gangs, prosecute 1,132 defendants; impose administrative penalties and establish drug rehabilitation records for 201 subjects. The seized exhibits include 323.5 kg of various drugs, 12 guns, 3 grenades and many other related evidences. Through the investigation, it was initially clarified that the subjects had traded drugs for a total amount of more than 28,000 billion VND.

In particular, implementing the motto of "not attacking the middle, arresting the whole network, the masterminds and leaders, and handling illegal drug users", the City Police have investigated and thoroughly handled even those who bought drugs to organize illegal use.

With a resolute and thorough spirit in the fight against crime, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department has directed the Special Task Force to verify and clarify even the smallest information. There are cases that have been investigated and proven to have been involved in the illegal buying, selling, and organizing of drug use since 2021. These efforts have significantly contributed to curbing and reducing the complexity of crime and drug abuse in the city.
