Hai Duong General Hospital was fined 439 million VND for environmental violations

The Chief Inspector of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has just signed a decision to fine Hai Duong General Hospital 439.6 million VND for two environmental violations.

Hai Duong General Hospital committed two violations. The first violation was discharging wastewater exceeding technical standards on waste from 3 to less than 5 times in the case of discharging waste volume from 200 m3/day and night (24 hours) to less than 400 m3/day and night.

Specifically, the ammonium parameter is 37.14mg/l, 3.7 times higher than QCVN 28:2010/BTNMT, taken on October 25, 2023 with a flow rate of 399 m3 day and night, column B.

This hospital also performed wastewater monitoring incorrectly and incompletely (in 2022, the hospital performed wastewater monitoring without the required parameters of As, Hg, Pb, Cd, Fe, and surfactants).

In addition to being fined the above amount, Hai Duong General Hospital is forced to renovate and fix the wastewater treatment system to ensure that the wastewater discharged into the environment meets the permitted standards.

Report on the renovation and repair of the wastewater treatment system and send a report on the trial operation plan of the wastewater treatment facility to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of the province before December 31, 2023.
