According to Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hung, Director of Children's Hospital 1, the hospital's Pediatric Surgery Center continues to develop and promote treatment techniques in the fields of General Surgery, Renal-Urology, Orthopedic Trauma, Burns-Plastic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Thoracic Surgery, Anesthesia and Resuscitation... At the same time, it aims at specialized surgeries such as kidney transplant surgery, stem cell transplant, diagnostic techniques, intervention and fetal surgery, spinal surgery, neurosurgery...

The Neonatal Center of Children's Hospital 1 was established 17 years ago and has become a specialized neonatal treatment center that meets the standards of level IV neonatal resuscitation (the highest level according to international standards) in the Southern region for many years. The establishment of the new building with modern equipment is an opportunity for the Neonatal Center to continue to promote the development of specialized diagnostic and treatment techniques on par with neonatal centers in the Southeast Asian region.

Praising the efforts of generations of doctors at Children's Hospital 1 in caring for and protecting children's health in recent times, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Duong Anh Duc requested the leadership and medical staff of Children's Hospital 1 to exploit facilities and equipment more effectively, while strengthening the quality of human resources to save more and more cases of children with serious illnesses.

"The city's leaders will create the best conditions for doctors and nurses at Children's Hospital 1 in particular and the three children's hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City to fulfill their mission of caring for and protecting children's health, not only in the city but also in the southern region," affirmed Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Duong Anh Duc.

Over the past 67 years, Children's Hospital 1 has always maintained its position as a specialized pediatric hospital in the southern region, leading the development of pediatric specialties with 5 key areas: intensive care, infectious diseases and epidemics in children, neonatal pathology, pediatric surgery, and pediatric cardiovascular surgery and intervention.

Along with professional development, the hospital is also a center for training, scientific research, international cooperation and pediatrics for the Southern region. It is also one of the leading medical facilities in quality management and patient safety according to the direction of synchronous quality management.

Currently, Children's Hospital 1 has about 1,500 - 1,600 inpatients and an average of 5,000 - 6,000 outpatients every day.
