Military Hospital 175 successfully performed 22 kidney removal and transplant operations.

On the afternoon of October 30, Military Hospital 175 ( Ministry of National Defense ) held a conference to summarize the program of transferring kidney removal and transplant techniques and deploy the plan to transfer liver removal and transplant techniques between Military Central Hospital 108 and Military Hospital 175.

Attending the conference were comrades: Dr. Tran Huy Dung, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Cadre Health Care Committee; Major General Nguyen Truong Giang, Director of the Military Medical Department, General Department of Logistics; Major General, Associate Professor, Dr. Le Huu Song, Director of the 108 Central Military Hospital; Major General, Dr. Tran Quoc Viet, Director of the 175 Military Hospital .

A kidney transplant was performed at Military Hospital 175.

The kidney transplant program is part of the 175 Military Hospital Organ Transplant Center project. 108 Military Central Hospital cooperates in training and transferring techniques to 175 Military Hospital. On June 20, 2023, the Ministry of Health recognized 175 Military Hospital as the 25th facility to perform the technique of removing and transplanting kidneys from living donors and from brain-dead donors. To date, the hospital has successfully performed 22 kidney removal and transplants, bringing new chances of life to patients in and out of the military. At the same time, the hospital has mastered this technique.

Former leaders of the two hospitals presented flowers to congratulate the generations of cadres and employees who continued and performed well the techniques of organ retrieval and transplantation.

Immediately after training and transferring kidney removal and transplant techniques, 108 Military Central Hospital continued to train and transfer liver removal and transplant surgical techniques to 175 Military Hospital. Up to now, the team of doctors who were transferred for liver transplant training have consulted and coordinated to develop and perfect liver transplant technical procedures, proposed to ensure sufficient equipment and tools for liver transplants, proposed to ensure sufficient tests for liver transplants... to be best prepared for the first liver removal and transplant at 175 Military Hospital.

Thereby, helping the hospital develop specialized techniques in organ transplantation, worthy of being the military's final-line general hospital in the South.
