Colonel Nguyen Dinh Huan listened to a report on the work of overcoming the consequences of the dike breach caused by floods.
The total flooded area is about 200 hectares due to prolonged heavy rain and rising floodwaters. The height difference between the water surface and the dike surface is about 30 - 50cm, the possibility of water overflowing the dike and causing landslides is high.
In recent days, the Provincial Military Command has directed the Defense Command of Area 4 - Tan Thanh and the militia force of Hung Dien commune to mobilize more than 50 officers and soldiers to coordinate with functional forces to quickly deploy incident response work: planting hundreds of bamboo stakes, using fences and tarpaulins to block water; at the same time using more than 500 bags of soil and rocks to fill the broken dike and help people harvest flooded rice.
Colonel Nguyen Dinh Huan directed to continue reinforcing key positions to ensure absolute safety for the dike.
Colonel Nguyen Dinh Huan highly appreciated the efforts of the forces involved in overcoming the consequences of the floods, especially the spirit of urgency and responsibility in the rescue work and ensuring the safety of people in the affected areas. He directed the forces to continue reinforcing key positions to ensure absolute safety for the dike and urgently help people harvest rice.
The Provincial Military Command has also deployed forces on duty 24/7 to closely monitor the situation until the water completely recedes./.
