The Ministry of Industry and Trade does not appoint or use any individual as "Ambassador"

The Ministry of Industry and Trade issued a document on July 31 affirming that it will not appoint or use any individual as an "Ambassador" for the VIETNAM OCOPEX 2025 Export OCOP Fair and will not allow any coordinating unit to do so.

Previously, on the afternoon of July 29 in Hanoi , the Center for Trade and Investment Promotion (Vietnam Cooperative Alliance) held a press conference to introduce the series of events "Top agricultural products - agricultural products to the city", within the framework of the Fair of OCOP export products (VIETNAM OCOPEX 2025).

The fair will take place from August 1 to 3 at Thang Long Imperial Citadel (Hanoi). It is a national trade promotion program chaired by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment , Hanoi People's Committee and the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance. The Trade Promotion Agency is the main implementing unit.

However, on July 30 and 31, public opinion was "stirred up" when it was discovered that the image of Tiktoker Pham Thoai (who is currently notorious on social networks) appeared on the main backdrop of the press conference with the title "Ambassador Pham Thoai".

On July 31, Ms. Cao Xuan Thu Van, President of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance, confirmed that the organization had invited Tiktoker Pham Thoai to participate in livestream sales in a series of events. However, in response to mixed reactions on social networks, she said she would review and adjust the program if necessary.

Regarding this issue, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Thanh Nam said he will ask relevant units to clarify.

Official dispatch dated July 31 of the Department of Trade Promotion

On the same day, July 31, the Trade Promotion Agency (Ministry of Industry and Trade) issued an official dispatch, in which it affirmed: The Ministry of Industry and Trade does not appoint or use any individual as an "Ambassador" for this program, nor does it allow any coordinating organization to do so.
