The Ministry of Science and Technology organizes a program to welcome National Digital Transformation Day 2025

On the morning of October 21, the Ministry of Science and Technology organized a program to celebrate the National Digital Transformation Day 2025 in person and online at 34 locations across the country. Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung attended the program at the Hanoi location. At the Ca Mau province location, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Luan attended the program.

On June 3, 2020, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 749 approving the "National Digital Transformation Program to 2025, with a vision to 2030" with three pillars: Digital Government, Digital Economy and Digital Society. This is an important milestone, demonstrating Vietnam's determination to create a foundation for national development in the digital age.

After 5 years of implementation, digital transformation has become an important driving force for socio-economic development, spreading widely to all areas of life, contributing to improving management and operation efficiency, serving people and businesses better and better. The models of "digital education for all", "digital healthcare platform " ... have been deployed synchronously, creating a foundation for bringing technology closer to people, realizing the goal of "Digital transformation for all people".

Up to now, Vietnam's digital infrastructure has developed strongly, the broadband telecommunications network has covered 99.3% of hamlets and villages; the average mobile internet speed is 146.64 Mbps, ranking 20th in the world; the 5G network has begun to be deployed, covering 26% of residential areas. Digital government has made remarkable progress, the rate of online settlement of the entire process has reached nearly 40%, 9 times higher than in 2019. Vietnam's e-Government ranking according to the United Nations has increased by 15 places compared to the 2022 announcement. The digital economy continues to have many developments. In 2024, the revenue of the information technology industry will reach about 2,772 trillion VND, up 24% over the previous year; hardware and electronics exports will increase by 29%.

The National Digital Transformation Day 2025 was held with the theme: "Digital transformation: Faster - more effective - closer to the people". At the program, ministries, branches and enterprises discussed solutions to promote faster, more effective digital transformation, closer to the people associated with the 2-level local government model.

Speaking at the program, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung requested central ministries and branches to promote digital transformation, bring digital transformation laws into life; focus resources on investing in digital infrastructure; promote universalization of digital skills for all people; fundamentally innovate thinking in approaching digital transformation, taking efficiency as a measure; develop real digital enterprises, promote restructuring of business models, service production based on data, automation and digital platforms, creating new growth drivers and new jobs; develop sovereign digital platforms; domestic innovation ecosystem subjects must proactively grasp new trends, become pioneers in national digital transformation; cadres, civil servants and people become true digital citizens, know how to use and exploit digital space; comply with laws and regulations in the digital environment.

At the program, the Organizing Committee honored outstanding collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in digital transformation and announced the results of the Digital Transformation Index (DTI) in 2024.
