August 26 saw a sharp increase in Russian military attacks in eastern Ukraine, focusing mainly on three strategic directions: Pokrovsky, Lymansky and Kurakhivsky.
According to the independent news agency UNIAN (Ukraine), since the beginning of August 26, the war situation in Ukraine has witnessed a sharp increase in attacks by the Russian army, focusing on three main directions: Pokrovsky, Lymanskyi, and Kurakhivskyi. The General Staff of the Ukrainian armed forces said that a total of 136 clashes had occurred, with the Russian army using missiles and suicide unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to target Ukrainian defense positions.
Pokrovsky direction: This is still the hottest point of the front. The Russian army has carried out more than 40 attacks on 8 settlements, concentrating half of them on Novogrodivka. Although the Ukrainian defense forces managed to repel 37 attacks, some attacks continue near Vozdvizheneka, Novooleksandrivka, Kalinovoy and in the direction of Sukha Balka. According to preliminary data, the Ukrainian army destroyed 2 anti-aircraft missiles, 2 artillery systems, 3 UAVs and 15 vehicles. They also damaged an armored personnel carrier, an artillery system, a 120mm mortar and 3 other vehicles.
Lymanskyi direction: In this direction, there were 21 clashes near 7 settlements, with the Russians concentrating their efforts on the Nevsky and Druzhelyubivka areas, where they carried out 13 attacks. The situation here is tense with continuous attacks from both sides. Fierce fighting has resulted in increased losses of men and equipment on both sides.
Kurakhiv direction: In this direction, the Russian army carried out 18 attacks near Karlivka, Nevelskyi, Pervomaiskyi, Georgiivka, Mykhailivka and Kostiantynivka. Ukrainian defense forces destroyed 4 infantry fighting vehicles and damaged 3 others.
In addition to the three main directions above, the Russian army also attacked in a number of other directions such as: In the Kharkov direction, the Russian army carried out four attacks near Vovchansk and Liptsi. In the Kupyansk direction, 13 attacks took place when the Russian forces approached near Petropavlivka, Synkivka, Hlushkivka, Kolisnikivka, Lozova and Stelmakhivka. The two clashes are still ongoing, increasing the tension in this area.
On the same day, TASS news agency quoted the Russian Defense Ministry as saying that the country's forces had carried out many attacks in various directions. In particular, the Russian army had launched a major attack with precision weapons on important energy infrastructure of Ukrainian military-industrial enterprises.
Thus, the war situation in Ukraine is tense with continuous attacks from the Russian army from many directions and directions. The clashes have increased human and equipment losses on both sides, with the Ukrainian army constantly having to deal with pressure from Russia.
