Ministry of Culture explains the reason for choosing Duc Phuc to compete in a music competition in Russia

(Dan Tri) - Regarding Duc Phuc surpassing 22 international artists to win the championship title at the Intervision 2025 competition held at Live Arena (Russia), a representative of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism spoke up.

On the evening of September 20 (local time), the final round of the international music competition Intervision 2025 was held at Live Arena stadium (Moscow, Russia).

The contest has the participation of many countries and territories, such as: Vietnam, China, India, Cuba, Venezuela, Egypt, South Africa, USA, Kazakhstan... In which, the representative of Vietnam is singer Duc Phuc.

Surpassing contestants from other countries, singer Duc Phuc excellently won with an explosive performance of Phu Dong Thien Vuong, bringing home a prize of 30 million rubles, equivalent to 9 billion VND.

After Duc Phuc's victory, Mr. Ta Quang Dong - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) - gave many compliments to the Vietnamese representative at Intervision 2025.

Mr. Dong said that to prepare for this event, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism directly directed the selection of national representatives to participate in the music competition.

According to Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has set clear and strict criteria when selecting artists to represent the country in the international music competition Intervision 2025.

The criteria are: First, the artist must have extensive experience performing on stage, suitable for the music genre of the competition. Second, the artist must choose a song that captures international music trends and has the ability to create a strong ripple effect. Third, the artist must possess impressive artistic achievements and have ethics, professional qualifications, and be admired by the audience.

"Singer Duc Phuc has fully met these criteria. Duc Phuc's victory is the common pride of Vietnamese music. This is not only the artist's personal achievement, but also demonstrates the serious and methodical preparation of the Ministry in selecting, training and supporting young musical talents to reach out internationally.

The Ministry will continue to create conditions for many Vietnamese artists to shine on major stages around the world ," Mr. Dong shared.

The leader of the Department of International Cooperation (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) also commented that Duc Phuc's victory is not only a historic moment for contemporary Vietnamese music, but also a brilliant mark of Vietnamese foreign culture.

This success affirms the talent of Vietnamese artists, and at the same time demonstrates the effectiveness of international cooperation, bringing Vietnamese music and identity closer to global audiences, contributing to the internationalization of Vietnamese culture.

When the MC announced the results of the contest, Duc Phuc shouted "Vietnam" and lifted the trophy in a confetti cannon show. He shared: "That moment will be deeply imprinted in this little heart."

The male singer was also emotional because exactly 10 years ago on this day, he won the championship of The Voice Vietnam - the launching pad for his career.

"I am very grateful for the audience's affection and the judges' recognition for the contestant from Vietnam. After 10 years of singing, I became the winner of Intervision. That feeling is really great!", Duc Phuc said.

Previously, Duc Phuc received an invitation from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to participate in the program. Each contestant will prepare a performance of a popular song in the country at the time of the contest, or a new composition.

The stage has a maximum of 6 people including the main singer, backing group and dancers. Each country sends one member to the jury and the face of Vietnam is musician Trong Dai.

In the final night, Duc Phuc performed in 20th place, performing Phu Dong Thien Vuong - a song composed by musician Ho Hoai Anh, inspired by the poem Vietnamese Bamboo by poet Nguyen Duy.

Duc Phuc's performance made a strong impression thanks to the careful investment in music, stage design and costumes, both honoring traditional culture and creating closeness with international audiences.
