Launching the KCP Phu Yen Biomass Power Plant project and increasing the capacity of Son Hoa Sugar Factory

On the morning of September 26, in Son Hoa commune, KCP Vietnam Industrial Company Limited held a groundbreaking ceremony for the KCP Phu Yen Biomass Power Plant project and increased the capacity of Son Hoa Sugar Factory to 15,000 tons of sugarcane per day.

Attending the event were comrades Nguyen Quoc Hoan, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee; Do Thai Phong, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Dao My, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and leaders of departments, branches, localities and former leaders of the province through the periods.

In the 2025-2026 crop year, KCP Vietnam Industrial Co., Ltd. will invest 545 billion VND, signing contracts with 13,700 farming households on an area of ​​30,850 hectares. This is the largest area of ​​sugarcane with investment contracts in the past 25 years.

To consume all sugarcane for farmers, the company increased the capacity of Son Hoa Sugar Factory to 15,000 tons of sugarcane/day. Along with that, the KCP Phu Yen Biomass Power Plant was also increased to 75MW to make the most of by-products from sugarcane production.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. KVSR Subbaiah, General Director of KCP Vietnam Industrial Co., Ltd., said: The project kick-off ceremony was held on the occasion of the company's 25th anniversary, in the joyful atmosphere welcoming the 1st Congress of the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030. This is an important milestone affirming the company's sustainable development strategy and long-term vision in improving production capacity, increasing the value of the sugarcane industry chain, contributing to the trend of circular economic development.

At the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dao My acknowledged and highly appreciated the investment of enterprises in sustainable production, demonstrating the companionship of enterprises with the province in realizing the goal of promoting economic growth, especially meeting the growth requirement of 8% in 2025. Increasing the capacity of factories not only demonstrates the strategic vision of enterprises but also opens up many opportunities for sustainable development for sugarcane farmers, creating more jobs and increasing income for local people.
