Mr. Truc also expressed concern about the company's debt. However, he affirmed that the main task of Saigon Zoo and Botanical Garden is to preserve animals, maintain the breed and gene sources of rare animals and serve the needs of sightseeing and learning of the people.

According to Ms. Giang, the Zoo has only recently become a financially independent enterprise. Originally a "non-profit" enterprise, the main purpose of the Zoo is to raise and preserve rare animals, but the unit is still having difficulty in asking for guidance from the authorities.

On the morning of December 11, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai informed about the solution to the problem of Saigon Zoo and Botanical Garden.

The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee said that he will assign the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to review and re-examine the decision on land allocation and land lease. In particular, the city will collect tax on the land used for production and business purposes, and the land used for public purposes needs to be recalculated appropriately.

The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee said: "Land used for general purposes needs to be recalculated. Land can be allocated but land use fees and land rents are not included. After adjustment, the Tax Department will use that as a basis to recalculate the tax."
