Bưởi Việt Nam chính thức được cấp "visa" sang Hàn Quốc

Báo Dân tríBáo Dân trí02/08/2024

(Dan Tri) - From the beginning of August, Vietnamese enterprises are officially allowed to export fresh grapefruit to Korea.
After 3 months of widely consulting with relevant parties, the Korean Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency (APQA) has just officially announced on the APQA website the import regulations for fresh grapefruit from Vietnam to Korea. Thus, grapefruit is the third fresh fruit from Vietnam officially allowed to be imported into Korea, along with dragon fruit and mango. This is an important step, opening up great opportunities for Vietnamese agricultural products to access the international market. In particular, with a market of more than 51 million people, Korea is a very potential market for Vietnamese grapefruit. The whole country currently has 105,400 hectares of grapefruit, with an output of nearly 905,000 tons; with diverse grapefruit varieties, typical for each region. The Mekong Delta alone accounts for about 32,000 hectares with an output of about 369,000 tons... Provinces with large grapefruit areas are Ben Tre (8,824 hectares), Vinh Long (8,619 hectares), Dong Nai (5,426 hectares) with famous grapefruit varieties such as green-skin grapefruit, Nam Roi grapefruit, Tan Trieu grapefruit...

To date, fresh Vietnamese grapefruit has been exported to 13 countries and territories. At the end of 2022, this fruit was officially granted a "visa" for official export to the US and New Zealand markets, thanks to which export turnover has grown dramatically. To facilitate Vietnamese businesses wishing to export grapefruit to Korea, the Plant Protection Department has sent documents on import conditions to relevant units for dissemination to organizations and individuals for information and implementation. At the request of the Korean management agency, areas growing fresh grapefruit for export to Korea must register with the Plant Protection Department annually for management and supervision by this agency. The Department must also notify the animal and plant quarantine agency of the list of grapefruit growing areas, export packing houses and registered hot steam treatment facilities before starting to export fresh grapefruit every year... Grapefruit is also required to be free of plant quarantine objects regulated by Korea, hot steam treatment... Export inspection will be carried out by Korean and Vietnamese plant quarantine officers, on 2% of the total number of cartons or 600 fruits for each shipment.
