Speaking at the opening of the conference, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Quang Buu said that after merging with Quang Nam province, Da Nang became the largest urban area in the country with an area of nearly 12,000km², a population of over 3 million people; possessing a strategic infrastructure system including: 2 airports, 2 class I seaports, Nam Giang international border gate and a traffic network connecting North - South and the East - West Economic Corridor.
This is an important foundation for Da Nang not only to maintain its role as the economic center of the Central region but also to become a transit point for goods and services in the region.
In particular, the implementation of a free trade zone of nearly 1,900 hectares with 7 modern functional areas, directly connecting Lien Chieu port, international airport, high-tech park and International Financial Center has opened up new development space, forming a dynamic, deeply integrated commercial - industrial - service ecosystem.
This will be an important boost to help the city make a breakthrough in investment, production and export cooperation.

In the first 8 months of 2025, the city's socio-economy continued to be stable, with total import-export turnover reaching more than 5.9 billion USD, an increase of nearly 13% over the same period.
Da Nang goods are present in more than 120 countries and territories, with many key products such as: textiles, seafood, wooden products, handicrafts, mechanics, electronics, etc. These results show the growing potential and capacity of Da Nang enterprises in international integration.
According to Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Quang Buu, in the context of many fluctuations in the world economy, the conference "Connecting trade, promoting exports - Da Nang 2025" opens up many new cooperation opportunities, contributing to promoting trade, investment and export activities, creating strong growth momentum for the city and the region.
At the conference on trade connection and export promotion - Da Nang 2025, delegates focused on sharing and discussing strategies for diversifying products and markets in the context of fluctuations in the world export situation; information about the US market and notes for businesses; potential of the agricultural, aquatic and food market in China; Halal certification - A passport to the Muslim market...
At the same time, the conference focused on finding new driving solutions for export activities in the Central region through regional linkages and logistics development associated with free trade zones.
Within the framework of the conference, the Department of Industry and Trade, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang city and the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Da Nang city signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation with the goal of supporting women enterprises to access domestic and foreign markets, promote trade promotion, develop Vietnamese brands and participate more deeply in the local commodity value chain.
