Mr. Le Hoang Du, Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Education and Training, presented the Decision to the school.
Ca Mau Province Special Education School, formerly the School for Children with Disabilities , was established in 2004. Initially, the school had only 10 primary classes with 32 students and 23 staff and teachers teaching children with hearing and visual impairments. By the 2025-2026 school year, the school had expanded to 33 classes, with 286 students and 57 staff and teachers at all 4 levels, from preschool to high school.
This school year, the school has 33 classes with 286 students in 4 levels.
During its operation, the school has always paid attention to the lives of students and staff, teachers. Students are exempted from tuition fees and receive special allowances in a special educational environment. Along with completing the curriculum at all levels, the school focuses on teaching life skills and career guidance, helping students to be independent. Up to now, 30 students have graduated, have jobs and support themselves. The school is always united and excellently completes the assigned tasks.
Mr. Le Hoang Du, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, announced the decisions to appoint the Principal and Vice Principal of the school .
Sharing at the ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga, Principal of the school, said: in life skills education, older students often support younger students in dormitory activities; they proactively follow the rules and regulations, communicate confidently and do well in self-management. In addition, students also participate in many experiential activities in and outside the province.
Teachers use sign language to help students grasp information during the ceremony.
To further improve the quality of education, the school recommends that the Department of Education and Training advise the Provincial People's Committee to soon invest in expanding the school, upgrading facilities such as gates, fences, schoolyards, and cafeterias for hearing-impaired students. At the same time, it proposes to establish another Special Education school in the old Bac Lieu area, according to Circular 27 dated September 2, 2024 of the Ministry of Education and Training on regulations on organizing schools and classes for people with disabilities.
Appreciating the achievements, Mr. Le Hoang Du, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, said: “The development of the school over the past 14 years has been an emotional journey. This is a pioneering address for the province's special education model, and is also a testament to the constant efforts in approaching teaching methods appropriate to each type of disability.”

“The conversion from a center to a school will ensure policies and benefits for teachers and students; at the same time, help the unit operate in accordance with the functions and tasks of the industry in the new period,” the Deputy Director of the Department emphasized.
Thereby, Mr. Le Hoang Du hopes that the school community will continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, overcome difficulties to accompany and support disabled children in integration and growth, for the development of each student; strengthen propaganda work so that society can understand, share and accompany the school; expand the work of mobilizing students with disabilities of all types to go to school, improve the quality of education, and at the same time advise on expanding facilities suitable to the conditions after the merger, contributing to the overall development of the Ca Mau education sector.
