The event took place at 4 locations: Bac Lieu ward, Hiep Thanh ward, Vinh Hau commune and Dat Mui commune, with many rich activities: Famtrip delegation surveyed the destination; forest planting ceremony; "Quintessence of Ca Mau Cuisine " Festival; talented chef competition; scientific seminar "Positioning Ca Mau tourism brand in the overall development of national tourism".

Through the series of activities, Ca Mau hopes to affirm its brand as an eco-cultural-culinary-community tourism destination, associated with the message of green, safe, friendly and sustainable. This is also an opportunity to connect businesses, artisans, and tourism communities inside and outside the province; at the same time, promote OCOP specialties, raise awareness of nature conservation, environmental protection and promote cultural and culinary values ​​in tourism development.

Expectations to make Ca Mau tourism "take off"

According to the Ca Mau Province Tourism Association, the highlight this year is the harmonious combination of cuisine, eco-tourism, scientific seminars and Famtrips, both promoting the local image and promoting tourism development links.

Mr. Tran Van Thao, Chairman of the Ca Mau Province Tourism Association, affirmed: “This event is a strategic step, promoting potential, creating a "green - energy - strength" synergy towards sustainable development. We hope this promotion will leave a good impression, at the same time expanding connections, especially with international partners”.

Mr. Tran Xuan Truong, Director of the Provincial Tourism Promotion Center, said that the new point of the event is the survey and cooperation signing activity of the Famtrip delegation: “After the survey, the experts will help Ca Mau orient, exploit more potential, support businesses to develop new products, suitable for future tourism trends. The signing activity also opens up opportunities for units to find partners, sign large contracts, creating momentum for Ca Mau tourism to take off.”

Bringing Ca Mau specialties far and wide

The “Quintessence of Ca Mau Cuisine” Festival is one of the most anticipated activities, especially for OCOP subjects. The event opened at 7:00 p.m. on September 27, lasting until September 30 at Hung Vuong Square (Bac Lieu Ward), with about 100 booths displaying OCOP products, specialties, and local agricultural products.

Mr. Khuu Van Chuong, Director of SK NONI Production and Trading Company Limited, said: “We bring about 1,000 SK NONI OCOP 4-star noni juice products of the province. With the theme of Ca Mau - The southernmost land of the Fatherland , where nature and peace converge, we hope to contribute to enhancing the value of local culture and cuisine and expanding the market.”

The opening ceremony is expected to welcome more than 500 delegates and many large tourism units such as Vietnam Tourism Association, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, Mekong Delta Tourism Association... This is an opportunity to strongly promote Ca Mau specialties to tourists and partners.

Ms. Truong Ngoc Anh, Director of TA Trading and Service Company Limited, shared: “We hope that our 3-star OCOP sour shrimp paste product will find a new direction. This is not only an opportunity to expand the market but also a useful playground for OCOP entities to exchange and share experiences.”

In addition to displaying products, the Festival also has a space for demonstrations - culinary experiences, cooking instructions, and international culinary experiences, promising to attract a large number of tourists.


Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province Ngo Vu Thang affirmed: "The province is ready for the event in response to World Tourism Day. With careful preparation and the desire to make Ca Mau tourism take off, we believe the event will be successful, contributing to building Ca Mau into an attractive meeting place for domestic and foreign friends."
