On July 10, the press service of the Eastern Military District of the Pacific Fleet (Russia) said that two frigates of this Fleet, including Rezky and Gromky, conducted anti-submarine exercises in the East China Sea.

These warships conducted exercises to search, detect and destroy enemy submarines.
Specifically, according to the exercise scenario, an enemy submarine was detected monitoring the activities of Russian ships. Ka-27PS helicopters were launched, from which the crews used special signals to force the enemy submarine to surface.
When the opponent refused the request, the crews of the escort ships destroyed the submarine with torpedoes and anti-submarine missiles RBU-6000 (Smerch-2).
Previously, on July 8, Interfax news agency quoted information from the Pacific Fleet press office saying that the two ships Rezky and Gromky had left the port of Vladivostok in the Far East to carry out training missions in the Asia-Pacific region.
“While leaving the main base of the Fleet, the crews practiced emergency preparedness measures for battle, and while passing through a narrow area, they conducted training to repel a raid by a simulated enemy unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV),” the information stated.
The Rezky and Gromky ships will conduct a number of exercises in the Asia-Pacific region, including searching for and destroying simulated enemy submarines, and will also develop common algorithms for air defense and anti-sabotage defense at sea.
According to Russian state media, the Rezky ship, which can fight enemy submarines and surface ships, attack coastal targets and counter enemy aircraft, has been commissioned into the Pacific Fleet since September 2023.
According to TASS , the Gromky, of the same class as the Rezky, was commissioned into the Fleet in 2018.
