Vietnamese players entered the knockout round of the World Billiards Championship

The pivotal group stage matches of the 2024 World Championship 3-Cushion Billiards World Championship cannot be difficult for Vietnam's top players.

Reigning world champion Bao Phuong Vinh had a quick 40-13 victory over Awwad Naser (Jordan), after 18 rounds.

On the same afternoon, the champion of the 3-cushion carom billiards World Cup in Ho Chi Minh City (in billiards, each year there are several World Cup rounds taking place in several different locations, but there is only one World Championship), Tran Duc Minh, had an even quicker victory.

Tran Duc Minh only needed 16 turns to defeat Ronny Lindermann (Germany). This victory brought the World Cup champion from Ho Chi Minh City into the round of 16.

Also entering the round of 16 is the reigning world runner-up Tran Quyet Chien. The world number 2 player had a 40-40 draw with Kostantinos Kokkoris (Greece). Although he could not maintain his 2-match winning streak like Tran Duc Minh and Bao Phuong Vinh, Tran Quyet Chien still had one win and one draw, passing the group stage.

The round of 16 matches will take place tomorrow, September 27. On September 28, the matches from the round of 16 to the quarter-finals will take place. On September 29, the tournament will take place with the semi-finals (noon) and the final (afternoon).

This year's World 3-Cushion Carom Billiards Championship takes place in Binh Thuan , Vietnamese players are determined to win the championship on home ground.
