Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee has declared an emergency, requiring urgent evacuation of people and finding solutions.

Mr. Bui Quoc Nam, Chairman of Cao Lanh Ward People's Committee, said that prolonged heavy rain, high tides, rapidly rising floodwaters, and high density of water vehicles have caused severe erosion of many riverbanks.
On September 20 and 24, at Tan Tich and Tinh Hung hamlets, landslides hundreds of meters long, some sections about 70 meters inland, damaged and swept away dozens of houses, and many areas of fruit trees were also lost.

According to statistics, the landslide has directly affected 35 households with 132 people. The scene shows that the ground in this area is alluvial, with sand mixed underneath, combined with swirling currents, so the risk of landslides continues to be complicated.
The Chairman of Cao Lanh Ward People's Committee said that the new landslide area is located along the Tien River adjacent to the old landslide section, damaging dozens of houses along the river, with estimated damage of tens of billions of dong.

The local authorities have urgently evacuated and arranged temporary accommodation for 18 households with 60 people at the old Hoa Sua Kindergarten, the rest are staying with relatives. Landslide warning signs have been placed along the riverbank, and authorities are on duty 24/7 to provide rescue assistance when necessary.
