Flood warning on rivers in the Northern region, from Thanh Hoa to northern Quang Tri

It is forecasted that from today (September 29) to October 1, there is a possibility of a flood on Thao River (Lao Cai), Hoang Long River (Ninh Binh), Da River (Phu Tho); floods on rivers from Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh continue to rise; floods on Dong Nai River (Dong Nai province) have peaked and are receding.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the flood on Dong Nai River (Dong Nai province) has peaked and is receding, the flood peak at Ta Lai station is 112.76m (1am September 29), 0.24m below alarm level 3. At 7am September 29, the water level at Ta Lai station was 112.75m, 0.25m below alarm level 3.

Currently, floods on rivers from Thanh Hoa to northern Quang Tri are rising; water levels on rivers in the Northern region are fluctuating.

Specifically, the water level at 7:00 a.m. on September 29 on some rivers is as follows:

On Chu River ( Thanh Hoa ) at Cua Dat station 32.14m, above alarm level 3 1.14m; at Bai Thuong station 17.25m, above alarm level 2 0.75m; on Ma River (Thanh Hoa) at Giang station 3.93m, approximately at alarm level 1;

On Ca River (Nghe An) at Dua station 21.10m, 0.6m above alarm level 1, at Nam Dan station 5.54m, 0.14m above alarm level 1;

On Ngan Pho River (Ha Tinh) at Son Diem station 14.15m, 1.15m above alarm level 3; on Ngan Sau River (Ha Tinh) at Chu Le station 12.64m, 0.14m above alarm level 2;

On La River (Ha Tinh) at Linh Cam station 4.25m, below alarm 1 0.25m;

On Gianh River (Quang Tri) at Mai Hoa station 4.48m, below alarm level 2 0.52m.

In the next 6-12 hours, flood on Dong Nai River will slowly recede and fluctuate above alert level 2; in the next 12-24 hours, flood on Dong Nai River will slowly recede and fluctuate at alert level 2.

The meteorological agency warns that from now (September 29) to October 1, there is a possibility of a flood on the Thao River (Lao Cai), Hoang Long River (Ninh Binh), and Da River (Phu Tho); floods on rivers from Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh will continue to rise.

During this flood, the flood peak on Buoi River, upstream Ma River, upstream Chu River, upstream Ca River, Ngan Sau River, Ngan Pho River and small rivers reached alert level 2-3 and above alert level 3; the flood peak at Hoa Binh Lake, Thao River, Hoang Long River, downstream Chu, Ma, Ca, La and Gianh River reached alert level 1-2 and above alert level.

The Meteorological Agency said that rising floods could cause inundation in low-lying areas along rivers and urban areas in the Northern region, from Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh and Dong Nai; flash floods and landslides on steep slopes in the mountainous areas of the Northern region, from Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh.
