Mulberry gardens in Duc An commune have their production processes "updated" according to the chain link.

Stabilize coffee and pepper areas

According to the 2025 plan, Duc An commune will implement nearly 13,100 hectares of total long-term crop area, including Robusta coffee (7,520 hectares); pepper (nearly 4,150 hectares); durian and passion fruit (404 hectares). Correspondingly, the total output will reach nearly 22,540 tons; 11,614 tons and 2,152 tons, respectively. Most of the area and output of long-term crops compared to the same period in 2024 will reach and exceed the plan. Not to mention the output of macadamia (136 hectares) and other fruit trees (more than 890 hectares).

Through the solution of applying new science and technology in the cultivation process, the entire Duc An commune has developed nearly 388 hectares of crops of all kinds that meet the standards of good agricultural practices certified domestically and internationally. In particular, the locality has been recognized by the competent authority as a production area of 450 hectares of high-tech coffee. The People's Committee of Duc An commune assessed: "Agricultural production in the commune in 2025 will be in the direction of promoting the advantages of each ecological region, gradually expanding the area of high-tech agriculture, organic agriculture, smart agriculture; encouraging the development of production linkage models according to the value chain associated with market demand..." Accordingly, with nearly 20 agricultural cooperatives operating in Duc An commune, they have initially linked with member households to "update" new specialized and intercropping crop varieties to connect to the consumption market.

“Update” new fruit trees and mulberry varieties

For example, Duc Khoi Green and Clean Agricultural Cooperative has organized concentrated production of 12 hectares of four-season lemons under a chain contract linked to consumption with agricultural cooperatives in the Southwest region. Mr. Bui Dinh Khoi - Director of the Cooperative said that the four-season lemon variety was "updated" by member farmers from the Southwest region and brought to Duc An commune to be successfully planted for more than 3 years. Up to now, the total area of four-season lemons entering the business phase is about 7 hectares; the remaining 5 hectares are growing as required and are more than 1 year old. These are areas converted from old, low-revenue perennial industrial crops. Through land improvement and improved production processes according to VietGAP standards, four-season lemon trees have brought positive results, with an estimated total output of about 200 tons/7 hectares in 2025. It is forecasted that by 2027 onwards, the output will increase to 450 - 500 tons/12 hectares/year.

Notably, Duc Khoi Green and Clean Agriculture Cooperative has connected with the Vietnam Union of Sericulture and Ecotourism Cooperatives to build a linkage model to "update" new techniques for producing 18 hectares of perennial mulberry trees in Duc An commune. Accordingly, by early 2026, the model will be built and put into operation to produce 200 boxes of silkworms each month, corresponding to a mulberry growing area of more than 10 hectares. All advanced silkworm breeding technology is applied synchronously in the model with 11 participating member households. Silkworm cocoon products are concentrated in one source of consumption with stable prices, ensuring annual profits for producers. “The goal in the next 5 years is for our cooperative to expand the model to more than 100 member households cultivating about 150 hectares of mulberry, with an average income of 300 million VND/hectare. Not to mention the income from coffee beans, perennial pepper, and yellow cottonwood trees that shade and block the wind for mulberry trees... ”, Mr. Khoi wishes.

Orientation of crop structure to 2030 in Duc An commune, Lam Dong province stabilizes the production of industrial coffee trees on 7,538 hectares and perennial pepper trees on 4,158 hectares, corresponding to the output of 24,885 tons and 12,823 tons. At the same time, convert the area of 300 hectares of coffee and 100 hectares of old pepper to grow other perennial crops for higher profits. Mr. Vo Quoc Tuan - Chairman of Duc An Commune People's Committee emphasized that the solution is to strengthen agricultural extension work, diversify the crop structure combined with the transfer of scientific , technical and new technological advances to cooperatives, farms and farmers for application in production to improve the quality and value of agricultural products, meeting the requirements of a competitive and integrated market...
