At the meeting, Ms. Vilma Sánchez Sempé, Director of the Department of Trade Policy with Asia and Oceania, Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment of Cuba, affirmed that Vietnam continues to be an important partner of Cuba in Asia, a key investor in the fields of energy, trade, construction, technology, processing, etc. The agreements reached after General Secretary To Lam's visit to Cuba in September 2024, especially the incentives for Vietnamese enterprises, have created a positive foundation; the rice production cooperation program for the period 2025-2027 has initially shown positive results.

The Cuban representative also emphasized that the country has received many investment proposals from Vietnamese enterprises in the fields of communications, telecommunications, and agriculture. For example, Thai Binh Group is deploying drones to sow seeds, fertilize, and produce rice on an area of 1,000 hectares. This is a pilot model that opens up great prospects, and Cuba hopes to have more Vietnamese enterprises participate in the fields of agriculture and high technology.
A representative of Thai Binh Group said that after nearly 30 years of presence in Cuba, the company has invested in 3 factories with a total capital of more than 50 million USD, with export turnover of over 100 million USD/year. In 2025, the group will be licensed to expand to supermarket chains, instant noodle factories, and rice growing projects. The company proposed that the State consider preferential credit mechanisms for overseas investment to increase financial capacity.

In addition, many businesses in renewable energy, technology, and services have expressed interest in the Cuban market; a number of Vietnam-Cuba joint ventures in food and foodstuffs have been established, enjoying special incentives from Cuba.
In the context of increasingly strong Vietnam-Cuba relations, Ho Chi Minh City continues to play a bridging role in promoting investment and trade cooperation between the two countries.
