Vietnam Electricity (EVN) said that due to the impact of the circulation after storm No. 3, a large amount of water has poured into hydroelectric reservoirs. Hydroelectric reservoirs in the North are currently opening their sluice gates to regulate the flow according to the direction of the National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and the Steering Committees for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control of provinces and cities.
According to statistics, hydroelectric reservoirs such as Lai Chau, Ban Chat, Huoi Quang, Son La, Hoa Binh have closed all discharge gates according to the direction of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development . Hydroelectric reservoirs are implementing regulated discharge: Tuyen Quang (2 gates), Thac Ba (03 gates), Trung Son (5 gates), Ban Ve (4 gates).
Vietnam Electricity Group said that storm No. 3 caused a number of 500kV power grid incidents, mainly concentrated in Quang Ninh and Hai Phong .
There were a total of 14 500kV power grid failures. Up to now, the electricity industry has fixed 11 failures. The 500kV power lines in the Northeast region such as Pho Noi - Thang Long, Hiep Hoa - Quang Ninh , Quang Ninh - Thang Long, Quang Ninh - Mong Duong 1, Quang Ninh - Pho Noi... have basically been fixed.
Regarding the 500kV line 3 project from Quang Trach (Quang Binh) to Pho Noi (Hung Yen) which was just inaugurated on August 29, speaking with Lao Dong, a representative of the National Power Transmission Corporation - the project investor said that storm No. 3 did not affect, damage or cause any problems with this line.
To support Quang Ninh and Hai Phong to quickly fix the problem and restore power soon, the Northern Power Corporation has established 38 shock teams with a total of 413 officers to go to work to support the repair of the power grid that was heavily affected by storm No. 3, including Quang Ninh province and Hai Phong city.
In addition, the Quang Binh Power Company's Shock Team, consisting of 47 members who are skilled engineers and workers with experience in fixing power grid problems caused by natural disasters, along with 3 forklifts, cranes, generators, materials and equipment, urgently set out to support Quang Ninh province in restoring the damaged power grid.
Quang Binh Electricity Company also called on its staff and workers to donate one day's salary to help the people of the North overcome the consequences of natural disasters.
Mr. Hoang Hieu Trung - Director of Quang Binh Electricity Company encouraged the members of the shock team to maintain their health and pay special attention to labor safety during work.
"With the experience and bravery of the orange-shirt soldiers who regularly face floods, I believe that they will coordinate well with the units at the scene, join forces to quickly restore the power grid, serving to restore electricity to people and quickly stabilize their lives," said Mr. Trung.
Besides Quang Binh Power Company, 5 shock teams from Power Companies in the Central Highlands region including Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai were also mobilized, including 273 people, and were dispatched by the Central Power Corporation to Quang Ninh province.
The Central Power Corporation said that in addition to human resources, the corporation's shock team also brought with them tools and equipment to repair and construct the power grid to ensure proactive support during the support process.
In addition, this unit has established a forward command committee, including a deputy general director in charge of construction investment and specialized departments such as safety, engineering and investment management, to coordinate operations at the site.
The Central Power Corporation will take care of all the logistics for the supporting forces, from food to accommodation. This is to share the difficulties with the Northern Power Corporation when facing heavy damage caused by storm No. 3 and the storm circulation causing flooding and landslides.
