Firewood Village - an art space with a message of environmental protection

Driftwood Village in Dong Na village, Hoi An city was born from the idea of artist Le Ngoc Thuan, a Hoi An native who is very famous for his journey of painting, fine art sculpture, and regenerating the life cycle of turning driftwood - logs of wood floating in floodwaters that were thought to be discarded - into creative works of art, participating in many domestic and international exhibitions, often called "Thuan luu lu", "Vietnam's Recycling Art Ambassador".
The space of Củi Lụ village is designed with environmentally friendly materials such as wood, paintings... There are exhibition areas of thousands of works made of firewood, including models of Hoi An Ancient Town, the Japanese Covered Bridge relic, zodiac animals, statues of the Co Tu ethnic group, marine creatures... The works are completely handcrafted, imbued with Vietnamese culture.
There is also a check-in space and an experience area for visitors to learn by themselves, watch artisans directly perform wood carving lines, learn how to do carpentry, and turn seemingly discarded firewood into unique works of art, etc. And from there, become more aware of using recycled products and spread the message of environmental protection.
