Dai Ngai 2 Bridge is expected to open to traffic in December.

Currently, package No. 11-XL (Dai Ngai 2 Bridge) has completed the main bridge section, the approach road to the bridge is in the loading phase, expected to complete the loading work in November 2025.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Hoang, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction of Can Tho City, said that the main bridge of Dai Ngai 2 Bridge has been completed. However, both sides of the approach road are in the loading phase, expected to end at the end of November 2025. After completing the loading, the investor will proceed with construction and is expected to complete in December 2025.

According to Mr. Nguyen Minh Hoang, the Department of Construction has worked with Project Management Board 85 ( Ministry of Transport ) to determine the opening time of Dai Ngai 2 Bridge, and regularly monitor the project's construction progress, coordinate to remove difficulties and obstacles to speed up progress. The Dai Ngai 2 Bridge project has been adjusted to add a connecting road from the bridge to National Highway 60, 12.3 km long, with a scale of 4 lanes. Phase 1 will invest in 2 lanes first, then complete 4 lanes, expected to be completed and put into operation in 2028.

Mr. Vuong Thanh Nam, Deputy Director of the Department of Finance of Can Tho City, said that the city's functional agencies are currently strengthening solutions to promote legal documents to speed up the implementation of the National Highway 60 section connecting from Dai Ngai 2 Bridge to Soc Trang Ward. In the coming time, the department also requested the Land Fund Development Center of Can Tho City and the People's Committees of Dai Ngai, Tan Thanh Communes, and Soc Trang Ward where the project passes through to urgently speed up site clearance as well as compensation, support, and resettlement of the National Highway 60 section connecting from Dai Ngai 2 Bridge to Soc Trang Ward under the Dai Ngai Bridge Construction Investment Project on National Highway 60.

Mr. Dinh Le Thong, Executive Director of Dai Ngai Bridge Project on National Highway 60 (Project Management Board 85) said that currently, Package No. 11-XL (Dai Ngai 2 Bridge, route and works on the route) has completed over 80% of the project volume. Package No. 15-XL (Dai Ngai 1 Bridge) started construction on January 12, 2025 and is expected to be completed in 2028. Currently, the contractors have mobilized over 400 personnel (including workers and commanding officers), 141 machines and equipment of all kinds to simultaneously deploy 26 construction teams, including 22 bridge construction teams including: 11 bored pile construction teams, 8 pier construction teams and 3 route construction teams. The total construction output to date has reached over 28% of the project volume.

According to Project Management Board 85 (Ministry of Construction), the Dai Ngai Bridge Construction Investment Project on National Highway 60 belongs to the Group A road construction investment project with a length of 15.14 km on the main route. There are 2 main works, specifically: Dai Ngai 1 bridge is a cable-stayed bridge, special grade with a length of 2,559.6 m with a 300 m wide clearance and a height of 45 m and Dai Ngai 2 bridge is a balanced cantilever bridge structure, 862.2 m long with a 120 m wide clearance and a height of 11 m. With the outstanding efforts of the contractors and the project management board, up to now the total volume of the entire project has reached over 42% of the contract value.
