At around 2:00 p.m. on November 17, Mr. Pham Van Nghia (27 years old, living in An Khanh apartment building, Hoai Duc district, Hanoi ) and his wife booked a technology taxi to take care of some work.

When going down to the apartment lobby, he got into the car with license plate number 30G-022…, sat next to the driver's seat, and his wife sat in the back.

"After that, we discovered we got on the wrong bus, so we hurriedly got off and accidentally left behind a black bag containing a lot of gold, worth a total of 100 million VND," the man recounted.

He contacted the apartment management board and asked them to extract security cameras around the area. Mr. Chu Hung Giap, the management board representative and the person in charge of the camera system, assisted Mr. Nghia in finding the car image.

"I extracted the camera in the 2 p.m. frame and saw the taxi drop off passengers at another location but parked in the apartment lobby to pick up passengers. Later, because there were no passengers, this person left," said Mr. Giap.

Mr. Giap also instructed Mr. Nghia to report to the An Khanh Commune Police, and from the license plate number, find the driver's phone number. At the same time, the man posted on social networking groups asking for information about the driver.

"When I received Mr. Nghia's call, I was a bit suspicious, afraid of being scammed. But when I checked the car, I saw an object falling as described," said the male taxi driver (who requested anonymity).

At 7:30 p.m. the same day, after dropping off the passenger at Viet Duc Hospital, the driver called Mr. Nghia back to inform him that he had found the bag deep in the seat gap. This person said that he had picked up a few other passengers, but they were all sitting in the back seat so they did not notice the lost property.

Two hours later, Mr. Nghia and the male driver agreed to meet at Dai Tu Street (Hoang Mai District, Hanoi) to return the property. Receiving the bag back, Mr. Nghia was happy, repeatedly thanked the benefactor and sent a small gift as a token of appreciation.

"I didn't think much, I just wanted to return the item to the right person," said the driver.

On social networks, many people took advantage of Mr. Nghia's situation, stole his personal information, created fraudulent accounts to transfer money. They made friends with 20 of Mr. Nghia's acquaintances, and borrowed 10-20 million VND with the reason "just lost 100 million VND".

"Luckily everyone was alert and called me directly to verify," he said.

The driver's meaningful action was praised by the online community, the article sharing the story attracted thousands of likes, comments and shares.

"Wishing the driver good health, safety and a good income! Praise good people and good deeds, spread them throughout the transport industry to shine!", wrote Hoa Nguyen.

"There are many good people in this life. I wish the driver good health and safe travels," commented Cao Thu Huong.

Mr. Nghia said he had lost motorbikes and phones before, but never anything as valuable as this. This was also a lesson for him to be more careful in life.

"I am always grateful to the driver, knowing that there are still many good people in the world. I believe that life is about giving and receiving, doing many good things that are useful for society," he said.
