Principal speaks out about 25,000 VND boarding meal with only eggs and 3 slices of ham

(Dan Tri) - The principal of Ba Don Primary School No. 1, Quang Tri province, admitted that the students' lunch on October 6 did not meet requirements.

Regarding the 25,000 VND meal for students of Ba Don Primary School No. 1, Ba Don Ward, Quang Tri Province, causing a stir in public opinion, school leaders are completing a report to send to local authorities.

Ms. Tran Thi Minh Thuy, Principal of Ba Don Primary School No. 1, said that the image circulating on social media was of the school's students' lunch on October 6 and admitted that the meal did not meet requirements.

According to Ms. Thuy, the school has nearly 600 boarding students, provided with meals by a business under a signed contract. The school has also worked with the food supplier.

The company said that due to negligence in preparation, not using pork during the African swine fever epidemic, and food shortages after the storm, the students' meals on October 6 did not meet standards.

The principal of Ba Don Primary School No. 1 said that in the students' 6/10 lunch, there was also stir-fried squash with garlic, but because of slow transportation, it was replaced with peanut salt.

As Dan Tri reported, public opinion in Quang Tri is buzzing about the image of 2 lunch trays of students at Ba Don Primary School No. 1. One tray has white rice, about 3 pieces of ham, 1 boiled egg, peanut salt; the other tray has vegetable soup.

The image quickly attracted attention, many people said that such a portion of food was too small compared to the price of 25,000 VND and could hardly ensure nutrition for boarding students.

The leader of Ba Don Ward People's Committee confirmed that he had received the information and worked directly with Ba Don Primary School No. 1, requesting a specific report and review of the entire meal supply process to ensure food quality and safety for students.
