
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting and international forecasting systems (platforms) such as Windy, Zoom Earth, AccuWeather, in the past 24 hours, the Southern region has had scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some places having heavy rain.
Some meteorological stations in the South recorded rainfall of 54.6mm in Dong Ban (Tay Ninh) and 51.4mm in La Nga ( Dong Nai ). In Ho Chi Minh City, the sky turned cloudy from dawn, with temperatures ranging from 25-31 degrees Celsius, high humidity, and southeast winds.
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that today and tonight, the area from South Quang Tri to Hue, the South Central Coast and the Central Highlands will have moderate to heavy rain, commonly 15-40mm, in some places over 80mm.
In the South, especially the center of Ho Chi Minh City and the East of Ho Chi Minh City (coastal area of Ba Ria - Vung Tau ) to Ca Mau, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening, with common rainfall of 10-30mm, the highest place can exceed 60mm.
Data from Windy and Zoom Earth shows that thunderstorms will develop strongly in the southwest sea, gradually moving towards the southern region. The average wind speed is 10-15km/h, with gusts of over 25km/h during thunderstorms. Forecast models from AccuWeather and GFS (USA) give a probability of afternoon rain in Ho Chi Minh City and the southern region of up to 70-80%, concentrated in the 2-7 pm frame.
