After a long delay, a few days ago I was forced to take my child to the police station to install level 2 identification. But strangely, from the moment I entered the gate until I left, I always received surprises.
At the Hac Thanh Ward Police reception point on Phan Chu Trinh Street, while I was still wondering where to start and who to talk to, a police officer immediately asked me what I needed and how she could help. After hearing my purpose, she smiled and started by saying that she was bothering me. “We can’t do it here yet. Please come down to the headquarters and remember to bring your ID card,” she said.
I feel light and stress-free.
After parking the car, my father and I hurried to the police station in the hope of making it on time, because it was almost noon. I only stopped when a voice behind me said: "Hey, what's the rush?" I turned back to apologize with an embarrassed look, thinking that the officer on duty would say something harsh. But there was a smile on her face. She asked my purpose and pointed to the house on the left.
My father and I's trip was not as expected because the ward police did not have the equipment to perform the technical operations, but in return it was a joy. The police officer on duty still warmly asked me why I was back so quickly, and when she knew the reason, she said that if I was not in a hurry, I should wait until next week and it might be possible. If I was in a hurry, I should go to the Social Order Administrative Management Police Department of the Provincial Police to do it. She also gave me specific instructions on the way and the reception place.
Suddenly remembered a few days ago, when the electronic citizen identification cards of the people in the neighborhood where I live all showed the place of residence as Ham Rong ward, while according to the demarcation of the new ward's boundaries, we live in Hac Thanh. When I called the local police to ask for the reason, he explained that there was a mistake due to objective reasons, the police agency is trying to redo it, to ensure accuracy to meet the transaction and work needs of citizens after the new ward comes into operation. He also apologized for this mistake and asked me to explain so that the people in the neighborhood know.
A week ago, Thanh Hoa Provincial Police announced a decision on organization and personnel. Assigning tasks to the leaders of the new wards and communes, Provincial Police Director To Anh Dung requested: Commune-level police must unify their thoughts and actions, each officer and soldier must determine "regularity in thinking". In particular, they must be truly close to the people, maintain their posture, etiquette, and style in work, combat, and when dealing with the people. This is both a legal responsibility, a political responsibility, a work order, and also the prestige and honor of the People's Police force.
No need for anything grand. I feel that what I hear and see is a vivid expression of the requirement for police officers to be “standard in their thinking” that the head of Thanh Hoa Provincial Police has set.
