Alongside the high-level General Debate, the United Nations is holding a series of high-level events, with the focus being on the 80th anniversary of the United Nations, to review achievements and shape the vision for a more inclusive and effective multilateral system.

Many national and international leaders will discuss and propose solutions to respond to global challenges, set out a strategic vision for the United Nations, and aim for a more peaceful, prosperous, equitable and sustainable world.

The series of events took place in a context where the world and the United Nations are witnessing many profound changes and unprecedented challenges.

President Luong Cuong's attendance at the high-level week affirms Vietnam's strong commitment to multilateralism and the core values ​​of the United Nations.

The President's participation not only demonstrates the Party and State's deep concern for multilateral cooperation and major United Nations agendas, but also affirms Vietnam's foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization, diversification, proactiveness, and active, comprehensive, deep, and effective international integration.

At the United Nations General Assembly, President Luong Cuong is expected to emphasize the key message of “honoring the value of peace and making strong changes to create a sustainable future.”

The President will also meet and contact leaders of countries and partners to maintain and promote in-depth and effective relations with them, as well as mobilize cooperation and support from the United Nations, countries and important partners for Vietnam's current major priorities.

The President's working trip to the US takes place on the occasion of the two countries celebrating 30 years of establishing diplomatic relations.

The President will preside over the celebration of Vietnam's 80th National Day in New York and have meetings with US leaders, businesses, financial institutions, long-time friends and partners, and leading scholars.
