On November 30, President Vo Van Thuong visited Kyushu University and had a talk with the school's outstanding Vietnamese international students.

On November 30, President Vo Van Thuong visited Kyushu University and had a talk with the school's outstanding Vietnamese international students.

This is the next activity in Fukuoka province, within the framework of the President's official visit to Japan (from November 27-30).

At Kyushu University, President Vo Van Thuong visited the Hydrogen Fuel Cell Technology Research and Development Center, one of the world's leading facilities for hydrogen energy. This is a place specializing in implementing key projects, in conjunction with many large Japanese companies, to implement research projects on Hydrogen.

Currently, Kyushu University has built a model of "Hydrogen Society" - one of the first models of "Hydrogen Society" in Japan, with many modern devices, machines, and infrastructure in the field of Hydrogen.

Japan was the first country in the world to adopt a Hydrogen strategy in 2017; accordingly, it set a target of Hydrogen accounting for 10% of the energy structure by 2050. The Japanese government has been investing heavily in this field to avoid dependence on oil and rare earths when making normal electric vehicle batteries today.

Kyushu University is one of the top 5 public universities in Japan with a history of more than 110 years with many leading research departments sponsored by the Japanese Government. Currently, there are 53 Vietnamese masters and doctoral students studying at the school; three Vietnamese people directly teaching, including 1 Associate Professor, 2 PhDs, and Assistant Professors. Dr. Pham Hung Cuong is the only Vietnamese, working and researching at the International Research Center for Hydrogen Energy.

During a meeting with Kyushu University President Ishibashi Tatsuro, the school's leaders and Vietnamese students studying there, President Vo Van Thuong highly appreciated the achievements and development orientation of Kyushu University, commensurate with the school's reputation, prestige and historical tradition.

The President welcomed Kyushu University’s plan to expand training and receive Vietnamese students through cooperation programs with Vietnamese educational institutions. The President asked Kyushu University to step up cooperation with universities and localities in Vietnam in training and improving the quality of human resources for Vietnam.

After listening to Vietnamese students share about their study life at Kyushu University and their desire to contribute to the country and Vietnam-Japan relations, the President expressed his delight at the outstanding achievements in study and research of Vietnamese students.

The President asked the overseas students to continue to strive to improve their knowledge and experience, always unite, support and take care of each other, and together build a strong Vietnamese community in Japan, thereby becoming a bridge for Vietnam-Japan relations.
