Changing the purpose of using 4.62 hectares of forest to build an agricultural and forestry product processing factory

(GLO)- This is the main content of the Resolution deciding on the policy of changing the purpose of forest use to other purposes to implement the project of concentrated agricultural and forestry production and processing zones approved by the 12th Gia Lai Provincial People's Council at the 2nd session.

Of which, 4.62 hectares of production forest in Tay Son commune (before July 1, 2025, belonging to plot 1, sub-area 301, Binh Nghi commune, Tay Son district, Binh Dinh province) will be converted to use for the project of concentrated agricultural and forestry production and processing area implemented by Vinanutrifood Binh Dinh Joint Stock Company.

This project has been approved by the Provincial People's Committee in principle for investment and at the same time approved the investor in Decision No. 228/QD-UBND dated January 17, 2024; was granted the first business registration certificate by the Department of Planning and Investment of Binh Dinh province (now the Department of Finance of Gia Lai province) on August 15, 2023, and registered for the first change on December 7, 2023.

On an area of ​​10 hectares, the project has a scale of processing animal feed 10,000 tons/year; canned fruit 20,000 tons/year; instant fruit 1,000 tons/year; functional food 2,000 tons/year; cosmetics ^5,000m3 /year.

The project has a total investment capital of more than 495 billion VND, of which the investor's capital is 100 billion VND (accounting for 20.16%), the rest is mobilized capital. The project will be implemented from the first quarter of 2024 to the fourth quarter of 2027.

According to Mr. Cao Thanh Thuong - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the construction of a high-tech agricultural production and processing zone and the linkage with poultry, seafood and animal feed processing units will create an industrial model of chain linkage and high-tech application, playing an important role in the development of the province's modern agriculture in general.

This project is expected to contribute to improving productivity of crops, livestock and aquatic products; forming concentrated raw material areas for processing and export.

It is known that this is a project that provincial leaders came to and invited Vinanutrifood to survey and choose an investment location in the locality.
