On the afternoon of September 8, VPF confirmed that Hoa Binh Club officially sent a document announcing that it would not participate in the First Division and National Cup in the 2025/26 season.

In the document, Hoa Binh Club said that there were some unforeseen factors affecting the team's plans, so the Northwestern team withdrew from participating in the 2025/26 season.

Previously, there was information that Hoa Binh Club transferred and changed its name to Phu Tho FC to participate in the First Division, but in the end, this team decided to withdraw from Vietnamese football.

With the withdrawal of Hoa Binh Club, the First Division will have only 12 participating teams. VPF Company plans to re-organize the draw ceremony for the 2025/26 First Division on September 11, 2025.

Meanwhile, the 2025/26 National Cup will not be redrawn. According to the published schedule, Khanh Hoa Club will meet Hoa Binh Club in the National Cup qualifying round. After Hoa Binh Club withdrew, Khanh Hoa will go straight to the 1/8 round of the National Cup. The 2025/26 National Cup will still have the participation of 25 teams with 24 matches.

The 2025/26 National First Division will start on September 19 and end on June 20, 2026. The 2025/26 National Cup will start qualifying matches on September 12 and the final will take place on June 28, 2026.
