Shocked to discover terminal cancer
About a month before discovering the disease, Anh had bloody stools. Thinking it was a common hemorrhoid, Anh went to see a doctor. However, the doctor performed an endoscopy and discovered a large tumor in the rectum. The biopsy results showed that the tumor was malignant and had metastasized to the lungs.
At the age of 32, he was diagnosed with late stage rectal cancer with distant metastases, and was given only a few months to live.
"At that time, when I found out I had the disease, I was very shocked. The cancer had progressed to the final stage and could not be operated on. I asked the doctor how long I could live so that I could have time to prepare everything. The consultant doctor said: I don't know how long it will take, but it could be 3 months," he confided.
He collapsed. For the next few days, he lost his appetite. Coupled with the negative thoughts in his head, she lost 3-4 kg.

Determination to treat
However, seeing that her child was still young and needed a mother, Anh was determined to get treatment. With the encouragement of her husband, family, relatives, friends, and doctors, Anh returned to the hospital.
"When I was being treated at the hospital, I saw many children much younger than me with cancer. Their illnesses were much more serious than mine, but they were still happily undergoing treatment. I thought more positively, focused on eating, and stopped thinking too much about the disease," he said.
During the first 3 chemotherapy shots, Anh was tired and could not eat much. Every time he put food in his mouth, he would vomit before it could go down to his stomach. When he had difficulty eating, he chose to drink milk. By the third shot, the side effects gradually decreased. He could eat and his health returned.
After 8 months of treatment, Anh has gained 7kg, and his body no longer experiences discomfort due to side effects. He returned to life, starting with light work without overworking.
His family runs a restaurant, so he can still help his family with light chores and cook meals for his husband and children. Now, every 21 days, he goes to the hospital for a few days of chemotherapy and then goes home.
He confided: "I was very happy to meet my old patients in the same room, and being able to meet each other was happiness. Because during the treatment, I also witnessed 5-6 people I had known before. I am also very grateful to my fellow patients, thanks to everyone, I know how to appreciate myself more, no longer indulge like before, no longer eat and drink recklessly."
Now, he eats steamed and boiled food, limits fried food, and absolutely does not eat grilled food. Mentally, he always stays comfortable and optimistic in fighting the disease.

A valuable message
Through his own case, Anh also wants to send a message to fellow patients: " K warriors should be more optimistic because spirit is above all. No matter what stage of cancer you have, you have to fight, fight to the end and learn to live with it, a very long journey ."
For young people, Anh also has a few words to say. She confided that in the past, she was healthy so she was subjective and did not care. Anh ate and drank indiscriminately and indulged his taste buds.
"I love grilled food and eat it a lot and often. Now that I think about it, because I ate it so much, my body couldn't eliminate it and it caused abnormalities," he said.
When she got sick, Anh realized the value of health. The young girl also advised young people to pay more attention to their health. " You need to have a balanced, scientific diet, limit fast food, fried food, and grilled food ," Anh said.
