Peatland area was also recorded in 10 communes of U Minh and Tran Van Thoi districts.

However, the peatland area is rapidly decreasing due to many reasons.

The research team also proposed to restore the swamp forest ecosystem with native tree species and Melaleuca trees, contributing to the conservation of biodiversity on peat soil in the ecological restoration subdivision of U Minh Ha National Park.
