Vietnam Railways will propose to the competent authorities to allow vehicles to pass through Long Bien and Duong bridges again tomorrow morning (September 13) when the water level recedes to a safe level.

Informing Giao Thong Newspaper, Mr. Tran Thien Canh said that the water level of the Red River and Duong River has receded. If it recedes to a safe level tomorrow, vehicles can cross the bridge.

According to Mr. Canh , the railway lines have now fixed the problems and damage caused by storms and floods and trains can run.

On the Hanoi - Lao Cai route alone, water flooded over a large area, many trees fell, information poles fell and railways fell; the railway bed collapsed, the rock bed was washed away, and the section had to be blocked off for rescue operations.

The most serious are the sections from Am Thuong - Lang Thip (Km 131+970 - Km 227+300), Thai Van - Cau Nho (Km 247+00 - Km 253+690), Lang Giang - Lao Cai (Km 282+215 - Km 293+560) with landslides on the roadbed, water flooding the top of the rails, and the rock foundation being washed away. Currently, the unit is still actively working to restore the road as soon as possible.
