Boat Without a Dock 9 - a rare lyrical music night of the year in Hanoi

In a year of many 'red music' shows and grand youth music concerts, the Vietnam Contemporary Arts Theater is about to organize a lyrical music night with pre-war music as the main theme, called 'Con thuyen khong ben 9'.

Boat without a dock 9 will take place on the evening of September 27 at the Hanoi Opera House.

This is a program that continues the series of art performances honoring timeless love songs by lyrical and romantic musicians such as Dang The Phong, Doan Chuan - Tu Linh, Van Cao, Pham Dinh Chuong, Vu Thanh An, Lam Phuong, Ngo Thuy Mien, Anh Bang... that the Vietnam Contemporary Arts Theater has performed continuously for nearly ten years.

“After performing many art programs serving political missions in a year with many major national holidays, we did not forget to return to the annual lyrical music night Con thuyen khong ben for the theater's elderly, very loyal audience,” People's Artist Tran Binh - director of the music night - shared with Tuoi Tre Online.

He said, Con thuyen khong ben 9 will perform about 25 songs, mostly pre-war songs such as Thien Thai, Suoi Mo, Dung Buoc Giang Ho...

In addition, he chose songs that bear the mark of a time such as Thuyen va bien, Huong tham ... And indispensable are the romantic love songs of overseas musicians such as Lam Phuong, Ngo Thuy Mien, Tu Cong Phung.

What's special about Con thuyen khong ben 9 is the combination of voices from many generations of singers, from famous singers who have recently rarely appeared before Hanoi audiences such as Ngoc Son, Ngoc Anh, Viet Hoan, Minh Thu, to young singers such as Le Viet Anh, Ho Trung Dung, Bao Yen (a chamber singer who sings Van Cao's music very well)...

Timeless love songs will be renewed with modern performance and stage design.

Singing Suoi Mo and Thien Thai in the program, Bao Yen said she hopes the audience will welcome the freshness in the way the young generation sings songs with a strong contemporary feel.

Meanwhile, the audience will meet a new Ngoc Son when he sings "Huong tham" and "Em oi Ha Noi pho".

Sao Mai Le Viet Anh's voice is imbued with love songs by Ngo Thuy Mien and Lam Phuong.
