Announcing the enrollment plan for grade 6 at popular schools in District 4 and District 7

According to the 6th grade enrollment plan for the 2024-2025 school year of the People's Committee of District 4, Ho Chi Minh City, Van Don Secondary School will not conduct a survey. Instead, the school will consider admission to 6th grade. Specifically as follows:

In the 2024-2025 school year, Van Don Secondary School will enroll 6th graders with 3 intensive English classes: 115 students, 3 regular classes with 115 students, and 2 integrated English classes with 70 students.

The conditions and criteria for selection are:

Primary schools in District 4 will select students to enter grade 6 at Van Don Secondary School with the following contents:

- Based on the allocated number to select the correct number of students.

- Based on the total test score of the 2nd semester of the 2023-2024 school year of grade 5, including 3 subjects: math, Vietnamese, and English, the scores will be considered from high to low until the quota is met.

If students have the same total score, other awards, if any, will be considered. In particular, English must meet the following conditions:

- Students taking intensive English classes must score 8 points or higher in each skill.

- Students studying elective English must have a total score of 8 points or higher.

The number of selections in primary schools is as follows:

Each primary school in District 4 will vote for the number of students specified above by the district to enter grade 6 at Van Don Secondary School.

Of which, the rate of selecting students for enhanced English is 12% of the total number of students studying in grade 5 of enhanced English.

Rate of students selected for elective English: 14% of total students studying elective English class 5.

Particularly, 66 integrated 5th grade students of Nguyen Van Troi Primary School were transferred to integrated 6th grade of Van Don Secondary School without having to participate in the vote.

Survey for admission to grade 6 of Nguyen Huu Tho Secondary School

According to the People's Committee of District 7, Ho Chi Minh City, in the 2024-2025 school year, the district will enroll 6th grade students at Nguyen Huu Tho Secondary School using a competency assessment test.

Candidates are students who have completed primary school in District 7;

Students who have completed primary school outside District 7 but are currently residing in District 7 have a final periodic test score of 9 points or higher in each subject of math and Vietnamese in the 5th grade.

The survey date is scheduled for June 15. The District 7 Department of Education and Training will have a detailed announcement about the survey in the near future.

Students who fail to pass the entrance exam to Nguyen Huu Tho Secondary School can still be considered for admission to grade 6 of other secondary schools according to the regulations of the primary school admission steering committee.
