Reduced admission scores for grade 6 to 3 'hot' schools in Ho Chi Minh City

On the afternoon of June 27, the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City (HCMC) announced additional recruitment and reduced admission scores for grade 6 at three popular middle schools: Tran Quoc Toan 1, Binh Tho, and Hoa Lu.

Accordingly, the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City (HCMC) has just issued a notice to parents and students participating in the 6th grade admission survey to 3 "hot" schools in Thu Duc City, namely Tran Quoc Toan 1 Secondary School, Binh Tho, Hoa Lu, about additional recruitment and lowering of the standard score for 6th grade in the 2025-2026 school year of these 3 schools.

Specifically, the additional admission scores for grade 6 of the above schools are as follows:

• Tran Quoc Toan 1 Secondary School is 53.15 points (previous benchmark was 54.9 points)
• Binh Tho Secondary School is 45.75 points (previous benchmark was 46.15 points)
• Hoa Lu Secondary School is 50.4 points (previous benchmark score was 51.1 points)

Based on the above survey scores and scores, additional admitted students will submit their applications for grade 6 admission at 3 secondary schools: Tran Quoc Toan 1, Binh Tho, Hoa Lu from 8:00 a.m. on June 28 to 5:00 p.m. on June 30.

On May 24, 3,536 students participated in the 6th grade admission survey, of which Tran Quoc Toan 1 Secondary School had 1,236 students registered, the quota was 315 students, the competition ratio was about 1/4; Binh Tho Secondary School had 1,094 students registered, the quota was 280 students, the competition ratio was about 1/4; Hoa Lu Secondary School had 1,203 students registered, the quota was 245 students, the competition ratio was approximately 1/5.
