Announcing socio-economic statistics of Quang Tri province in the first 6 months of 2024

This afternoon, June 28, the Quang Tri Provincial Statistics Office held a press conference to announce socio -economic statistics of Quang Tri province for the first 6 months of 2024.

According to the report of the Quang Tri Provincial Statistics Office, despite the difficult and challenging domestic and international situation, the province's socio-economic situation in the first 6 months of 2024 has achieved important results in all sectors and fields.

Total product in the area in the first 6 months of the year is estimated to increase by 5.02% over the same period last year, of which the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector increased by 3.34%; the industry - construction sector increased by 4.55%; and the service sector increased by 6.14%.

The industrial and construction sectors play a driving role in promoting economic growth. The growth rate of investment capital in the area is quite high, 3.57% over the same period last year, with total investment capital estimated at VND 9,347.11 billion. The progress of public investment disbursement has improved. The average consumer price index in the first 6 months of 2024 increased by 4.04% over the same period last year.

As of June 15, 2024, the total number of schools meeting national standards in the province was 199/366 (only counting public schools), reaching a rate of 54.37%. The epidemic situation in humans is strictly controlled, and public health care has made much progress. The employed labor force in the first 6 months of 2024 is estimated at 329,620 people, accounting for 97.91% of the province's labor force and an increase of 0.32% over the same period last year.

It is estimated that the whole province created jobs for 6,578 workers in the first 6 months of the year. Up to now, Quang Tri province has 95% of families recognized as "Cultural Families"; 96.8% of villages, hamlets and neighborhoods have met cultural standards; 98/125 communes, wards and towns have standard cultural - sports centers; 772/800 villages, hamlets and neighborhoods have cultural houses - sports areas. People's lives are stable, political security and social order and safety are guaranteed...

At the press conference, leaders of the Provincial Statistics Office, departments, branches and sectors discussed and answered a number of issues of interest to the press, requesting clarification, especially specifically explaining the reasons for the increase and decrease of production indexes, and assessing and commenting on the situation in the last 6 months of the year.

From the information at the press conference, statistical information will be promptly disseminated, creating consistency in the assessment of the socio-economic situation in the area, contributing to serving the direction and implementation of tasks of sectors and localities in the coming time.
