Up to now, dozens of households have had new, spacious, warm and affectionate houses, becoming a driving force to escape poverty and stabilize their lives.

In August 2024, Mr. Be La Ha's family in residential group 8, Da Teh commune started building a solidarity house. Just under two months later, the solid house was completed and put into use.

Mr. Ha emotionally shared that since hearing the news of receiving 50 million VND in support from the fund "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses" of Da Teh district (old), he and his wife have joined forces and saved more money to build a decent house. "My family is very grateful for the attention of the Party, government and organizations. This is a great source of encouragement that helps us have more confidence and determination to escape poverty," he said.

Not only Mr. Ha's family, many other poor households in the area have also received support to build new or repair houses. In difficult cases, the commune government has found ways to promptly resolve them. For houses on borrowed land, the family is encouraged to donate, and for houses without papers, legal procedures are supported. Households without counterpart funds are mobilized to mobilize businesses, philanthropists, officials and civil servants to join hands. Particularly difficult households that do not have the conditions to build new houses are also supported to repair, ensuring a safe place to live.

This method not only helps people settle down but also arouses the spirit of solidarity, promoting the tradition of “helping each other”. Neighbors, relatives, members of the association and union contribute their time, effort and labor to build houses of love.
Mr. Nguyen Hong Cuong, Vice Chairman of Da Teh Commune People's Committee, said that identifying the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses as a key task, the Party Committee and the government of Da Teh Commune have issued resolutions and specific plans to implement such as: Establishing a steering committee from the commune to the village, clearly assigning responsibilities; the work of reviewing and counting difficult households is carried out publicly, transparently, ensuring the right subjects.

During the implementation process, Da Teh commune has integrated many resources from the State budget, the “For the Poor” fund, and target programs; at the same time, launched a strong socialization movement. Enterprises, children far from home, and local people all responded with money, construction materials, and working days. Socialized funding sources are strictly managed and made public for all people to monitor.

Mr. Nguyen Hong Cuong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Teh Commune, shared: "We determined that eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses is not only a material support but also a spiritual motivation for people to feel secure in working and production, and to escape poverty. The success is thanks to the consensus of the entire political system and the joint efforts of the people."
Up to now, the entire Da Teh commune has built and repaired 23 houses for poor and near-poor households with a total cost of 993 million VND. The houses have been completed and put into use, bringing great joy to dozens of families, helping them escape from temporary and precarious living conditions.
According to Mr. Nguyen Hong Cuong, this achievement does not only stop at new houses but also creates a vibrant emulation movement in the whole commune, arousing the spirit of solidarity and sharing. “In the coming time, Da Teh commune is determined not to let any poor households live in temporary or dilapidated houses. We will continue to promote socialization, encourage the construction of solidarity houses, and at the same time link housing support with livelihood creation for people to stabilize in the long term,” Mr. Cuong emphasized.
The results achieved in Da Teh commune have affirmed that when the government is determined and the people are united, all difficult goals can become reality. New houses are not only a shelter from the rain and sun, but also a belief and motivation for families to develop their economy and gradually reduce poverty sustainably.
From the lessons learned, Da Teh continues to set higher goals; determined not to leave any poor household behind. The spread of the program also contributes to strengthening the great national unity bloc, improving the new rural criteria, aiming for a stable and happy life for all people.
The “homes of love” in Da Teh are the clearest evidence of the effectiveness of joint efforts and consensus. And from those new, spacious houses, the belief in a brighter future is increasingly present on this land.
