Imagine one weekend, you don’t sleep in and experience some activities you have never done before? Trust me, it will be interesting.

In early October, I participated in the "Mental Health Promotion Day" program held at the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Cultural House. It was the first time I had the chance to try out so many gentle and creative activities.

Start by decorating a small, pretty potted plant. Although I am not confident in my drawing ability, under the careful guidance, I carefully colored and drew. The result is also very cute. Each stroke helps me relax and forget my worries. And I practice planting bonsai on that small, pretty pot. Now it is green and welcoming the sunlight on my desk.

With an experimental mindset, I also took the opportunity to paste more flowers, draw more trees, flowers and leaves, and be a little creative to have more inspiration when enjoying each page of the book.

After painting time, I went to cake decorating class. I learned how to create simple cake shapes like chili, cucumber… with eye-catching colors. It turns out that you don’t have to be skillful to be in the kitchen. I don’t like cakes, but making them myself is surprisingly delicious.

The special thing about the festival programs is that there are many experiential activities and interesting programs. Even if you are lazy, you cannot resist going around them all.

There are many booths for personal health care and consultation. Here I received enthusiastic advice and was shown the right medicine for me, as well as advice on physical and mental health.

That day really helped me feel relieved, less stressed and more balanced. I finished a meaningful healing session, and I still had an afternoon to do the things I planned. "Sacrificing" a nap was precious, but in return I knew how to listen to myself from within. I recharged my energy to welcome a new week full of energy.
