Speaking on ESPN , former American tennis player John McEnroe said: "We don't know if Novak will recover 100% or not.
He has been injured here for many years but still won the championship. Djokovic has won the Australian Open 10 times, before no one dared to think about this achievement."
Novak Djokovic is the best tennis player in Australian Open history, he won 10 championships in 18 times participating. In the last 5 Australian Open seasons, Nole has won 4 times.
Djokovic will be absent from the 2022 tournament that Nadal will win due to being denied entry to Australia. The Serbian star is also enjoying an impressive record at the Australian Open with 89 wins, 8 losses, 10 finals appearances and 10 championships.
Djokovic suffered a wrist injury while playing for Serbia at the 2024 United Cup. However, Nole confirmed that he will recover in time for the 2024 Australian Open, which will take place from January 14-28 in Australia.
The draw for the 2024 Australian Open took place on the afternoon of January 11. Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz are the top seeds. Despite Rafael Nadal's withdrawal, the tournament still has many strong players who are not seeds and use the ATP's ranking protection rules to compete in Melbourne.
Former Grand Slam champion Marin Cilic and former Grand Slam runner-up Milos Raonic are among the unseeded players, so Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz could face strong opponents in the first round.
Many other famous tennis players also participating in the Australian Open 2024 without being seeds include Matteo Berrettini, Denis Shapovalov, Andy Murray, Stan Wawrinka, Dominic Thiem, Gael Monfils and Jack Draper.
