Diversify forms of youth gathering

Bringing the movement to residential areas, arousing the spirit of initiative and dedication through volunteer activities is an effective solution to gather union members and youth in Da Nang city.

Awaken the spirit of vanguard

Thang An commune was established on the basis of merging Binh Trieu, Binh Dao, Binh Minh, Binh Duong and Binh Giang communes. Ms. Pham Thi Dieu, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and Secretary of the Youth Union of Thang An commune, said that with the large area, gathering a large number of union members and young people to participate in activities is not easy.

Meanwhile, the phase of operating two-level local government, building digital government, new rural areas, etc. really needs the companionship of local youth.

To promote the spirit of volunteering, the Youth Union of Thang An commune proactively brought the movement to residential areas. Typical programs include "Green Sunday" to clean up 5 martyr cemeteries; "We are always with you, mother" in Phuoc Am and Hien Luong villages; "New Age Youth Festival", "Let's clean the sea" at Ha Binh village beach; "For beloved juniors" in Nam Ha village; "Helping children go to school" in Binh Tinh village...

There are also voluntary activities such as health check-ups, gift giving, free haircuts for poor households and sports , cultural and artistic movements in the villages. “Depending on the characteristics of each locality, we organize appropriate activities to attract union members and young people.

Thereby building a core force, accompanying the programs, contributing to local development," Ms. Dieu shared.

In Tam Anh commune, with the foundation of the youth volunteer movement maintained from the three old communes of Tam Anh Bac, Tam Anh Nam, and Tam Hoa, after the merger, the Youth Union of Tam Anh commune established youth volunteer teams.

This is the core force accompanying the locality in the process of operating the 2-level local government. Mr. Huynh Minh Phat, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune, Secretary of the Youth Union of Tam Anh commune, said that union members and young people support the police force during peak periods of making citizen identification cards and electronic identification cards such as guiding declarations, drawing numbers, helping people, especially the elderly and students, to complete procedures quickly.

“Since July 7, we have assigned union members and youth to support the Commune Public Administration Service Center. Up to now, we have maintained the “Volunteer Friday” model, contributing to reducing the pressure on officials in handling administrative procedures and supporting people in using online public services.

In addition, volunteer activities are posted on social networks, creating positive effects, spreading good practices, and attracting the response of union members and young people," said Mr. Phat.

Where young people are needed

Mr. Nguyen Duc Hung, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune, Secretary of the Youth Union of Tam Xuan commune, said that with the spirit of "Where there is a need, there is youth, where there is difficulty, there is youth", Tam Xuan youth affirms its pioneering role in many fields, not only creating a training environment for union members and youth, but also receiving the support of local people.

Outstanding are volunteer activities for the community such as maintaining self-managed youth routes associated with environmental sanitation, planting trees, hanging national flags; maintaining summer classes for disadvantaged children; taking care of policy families, meritorious people...

Recently, the youth union members of Tam Xuan commune also took time off from their holidays to give gifts to people on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.

“In the coming time, we will continue to expand volunteer activities, spreading good deeds. Thereby, promoting the solidarity of young people to build our homeland to develop more and more,” Mr. Hung shared.

According to a report by the Da Nang City Youth Union, the 2025 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign alone attracted 521,550 union members and young people to participate.

Notably, during the period of operating the two-level local government, there were more than 400 youth volunteer teams actively supporting at the grassroots level. As a result, Da Nang youth supported 253 households to build and repair temporary and dilapidated houses; planted 32,023 new trees; repaired and renewed 17,000m of rural roads....

In particular, 212 youth projects and tasks were carried out to welcome Party Congresses at all levels, with priority given to projects related to local socio-economic development tasks.

From the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign, the Youth Union at all levels introduced 1,000 outstanding members to the Party, of which 135 members were admitted.
